We are going to renovate our bathroom and need some recommendations on good quality but affordable bathroom suites.

We want a shower bath but only have space for a max size of 1675 length bath - and someone said we should get a 8mm thick bath....but I cant find any shower baths in this thickness and length - so does anyone have feedback recommendations or advice.

And secondly, any advise where we should purchase the basin and toilet from?

Thanks

hi there you need to chop plaster or cut plasterboard to get bath in this is very easy to do and is done quite often you only need to gain 20-25mm.Most baths now seem to be 5mm unless you want a normal straight bath.

A good site to visit is www.wholesaledomestic.com hope this helps..brum

Another vote for Eastbrook.

They do their Brio Showerbath in 1650mm, and Arc, Axis, Delta or Quantum at 1690mm

There are also several 1675mm baths in their range, but I think they are all straight baths (rather than shower baths) because they are intended to replace imperial 5ft 6"" baths.

You will see that every Eastbrook bath comes in two versions - a 5mm acrylic version and a "Carronite" version. If you can afford the money choose Carronite - its bulletproof. The "someone" who said get an 8mm bath may be living in the past a little. There was a time when all plastic baths were stamped out of acrylic sheet which came in 3mm, 5mm and 8mm thickness. If you held a 3mm one up to the light, you could read the newspaper through it. 5mm became the standard, and 8mm was a sign of quality until tougher materials appeared.

Cant remember the last time i bought one but I was always told to go for a reinforced bath which were 5/6mm
Its stretched into shape, then coated again. I was always very happy with the quality and the price
