Does water ever gush out of a CWSC Vent/Expansion Pipe?

And if so how rare?

Is it much more likely to drip?

if the pipe set up is all wrong it will happily pump over all the time

It shouldn't pump over or drip if its been installed correctly.

Cold water storage should never gush out the vent unless big problems are there,,, pumping over is more for your heating F n E tank ,
Even a dripping vent means your water is being heated at way to high a temp and indicates a problem with a thermostat, or sometimes cold water traveling back up through the hot water cold feed,
