Obviously it needs to be readable and good practise would require you can get at it without damaging anything (albeit it might still be a pain in the rear) but does anyone know if there any other rules water boards tend to have about accessibility? Or other reasons why I shouldn't consider what I am considering?...

Basically customer thinking about back to wall vanity unit to help hide ugly meter and spruce up room a bit. I was thinking re-gig this so stopcock renewed and still vivisble/accessible but put meter inside back to wall unit and flip it so you could read it once you took of off hopefully top part of vanity unit but if very tight/tricky maybe one of front panels too.

Bad idea or ok?

Yeah would be pretty inaccessible. So would you maybe suggest some sort of bespoke furniture which leaves meter fully accessible and readable or to just leave be?

I would ask the waterboard if they could move it outside
