Thought it'd be interesting to see what everyones favourite and least favourite boilers are for working.

I love a good Vaillant Turbomax Plus, and a Glow Worm Ultimate to work on.

Won't touch Alpha's, think the Baxi Powermax has to be up there with one of the worst.

Some of the older Viessmann can be a bit fiddly with the bits of casing, although newer models seem better.

I dont really do repairs so I mostly see newish boilers.
Vaillant Ecotec is my favourite, I also like to service Ideal Logics and Vogues.

Worcester junior and Compact cases are a dislike

Never so keen on the Ideal Logics, but maybe that stems from my dislike of them in general 😂 Probably because everyone I seem to service needs a new sump 🙄

Worst mostly the ones I go too which arnt many are pcb which knocks them back to vaillant for fixed price as there pcb are expensive
Tbh I don't do many Vaillant repairs, I find them a pretty reliable boiler on the whole. Had the odd PCBs with the F.61 error but none recently. Pressure sensors are the most common, and tbh not had many diverters.

I’d say Vaillant is my favourite, Work on approx 70% Vaillant Ecotec pro, carried out 1000’s of repairs: leaking DV’s, pumps, burst rubber hoses, vessel changes, F75 (pump and or sensor), F61/F62/F27 all pcb faults, fans, support rails, plate hex, main hex, the known failure of condense hoses.

I find the newer ones (perhaps a bad batch) have certain faults, eg: PCB - just loses power, GV - goes to F28/F29 with poor ignition. That said they’re really easy to work on and very accessible for components.

As for everything else I work on, they’re ok too.

My least favourite is the Baxi Neta-tec GA - absolute shyte.

Sounds like you do your fair share of repairs, don't work for Vaillant by any chance do you? 😂

Most of my Vaillant's I look after are <10 years old, so not had much issues as of yet. Most of the newer ones have 7/10 year warranties too.
