Went to look at a flue on a duotec he this evening for a forum member brd bri, original post was something like is the is a standard Baxi flue.
Couldn't believe. It, drove down road and started to think ie been here before..... Bloke opens door. Oh oh it's you, hi how are you? In my head thinking all the better knowing your install a bodge u tool!
Goes in and he's giving me some bs about it's his mate who forced him to use this bloke as he was a landlord and this lad did all his work.
Strange enough when I went to quote the job his mate had stripped the old bbu cylinder and primaries out and the bloke was in a pickle plus he had an open end where bbu had been. Capped off left and then sent quote..... Didn't hear a thing. Bloke said he was in a rush as he was working off shore and needed to be done by end of November........
So the faults:-
Boiler 75mm too low so flue nearly vertical
Conny swinging in the air
Gas pipe in clipped and floor resting on it
No sat just trvs
Plastic speed fit under floor - not insulated as it's self insulating????
Leaking
Horrendous mess of floorboards
Rads not fixed securely
Weeping on valves
Plastic all over
System not balanced
Rad tails less than vertical, massively undersized rads in gf and two monsters in bedrooms
Told bloke to call gas safe as the installer has registered and custard has cert.
Absolute mess, I would be asking my "mate" to get his approved contractor round

Yes I can correct defects for £550 plus vat.
Felt sorry initially but he's not telling the truth, him and his mate did install and paid some one to sign it off I reckon!
