Been approached by a customer who rents his house out, the front glass on the fire has been smashed. Is this a job for a gas safe engineer?

If it's a rental prop, cap the gas to fire and throw it away. Hate fires in rentals to much hassle

The answer to the question is YES. Get GSR in urgently, to make the appliance safe, by either repairing the problem or disconnecting the faulty appliance.

I worked at Flavels and that was over 30 years ago, that fire was new then so I would bin it ! don't know how long it was made for norm is about 5 years.

Front glass is about £130- £140, Side Glass about £20- £30. That's if you can still get them. Goes along way towards a new fire. But you are dealing with a landlord so they may have other ideas.

Thanks for all replies. Yes Reg Man that is the fire. He seems to think that the prise of £132 for glass is steep, but as you say the price looks right. I will let him know and as I dont do gas he will have to get someone who does in. Cheers.
