Hi everyone,

My customer has a gas fire (Gazco Logic HE fire, about 10 years old).

It's a slide control fire. The fire has become difficult to light. One has to push a lot more firmly down on the control slide to get it to light.

At which point, all is fine. The pilot is good, new battery and spark is OK, gas rate good. Switches off OK afterwards. No obstructions on the lever handle. Only the customer can't light it like they used to (they don't have my heavy handed touch).

Is the gas valve on the way out? The only other culprit could be the little sparker switch on the spindle that goes into the gas valve, but it seems seems quite securely fixed on the spindle.

I'd hate to order a new gas valve, and waste the money.

Can't get hold of Gazco, so I thought I'd ask on her.

Thanks for your advice,

Jennie

You could try greasing the spindle of the gas valve with something like 3 in 1 etc ?
