went to look at a worcester 28i greenstar, boiler would sometimes fire and sometimes not when it had locked out blue light was mostly off which indicates ignition fault, did all my basic checks and noticed when it was trying to fire the working pressure would jump, green flame light would come on for a split second then go out, when it did stay on the fga was spot on and fan test was spot on, i noticed the meter regulator was quite old so im thinking it could be that but any other ideas ??

boiler only installed a year ago....

Tested wp at the meter yet?

was there fri but if i remember right there was a 2mb drop across the system which is acceptable according to wb it was quite a long run was 20 at meter and 18 at gas valve when staying on, its a strange one because when running it would stay on untill no longer calling for heat then it would not come back on after it would just attempt to light about four times then lock out, im thinkin regulator but not sure ..

Test wp at the meter as mr commercial says. If it's low get the emergency provider out. If it's bouncing up and down it could be water in the main, get them out.

How examination standards have dropped, lol.

Yeah. Love you too! Wee bit on tightness testing a u6 meter and then the ccn1 and cenwat1 questions. In one day. Doddle. Dunno why you domestic boys try and make it sound complicated.......

Ideal state it's ok to have a drop of 2.5 mb, 1mb across the system and 1.5 through there elbow supplied.

Had a jumping working pressure I could not solve the other day had no choice in the end but to call transco it turned out to be a sticky meter dial, as the dials were revolving it would briefly snag and stop the bellows operating. New meter and all sorted just a pity it was 5 o'clock on a Friday when I had to call them.

No problem, they work 24/7 and apparently do overtime free of charge.
