Hi all,
New to this forum and new to plumbing. Only just passed Level One plumbing.
I am having to go back and look at a leak from the back of a WC. The flush pipe is chrome and I have replaced the flush pipe concertina seal.
The seal seems to being pushed out of the WC when flushing. The size of the seal seem correct. Any solutions ????
The seal was from Screwfix, but had good reviews.

Hi
Yes it was a snug fit. Had to use a little soap to help it along the pipe. It felt snug going into the pan too. When I tested it, I noticed the seal had moved a small amount. The WC is fixed firm to the ground, so no movement there. It seems to be the force of water

Clean all the soap off and wipe pipe and seal with alcohol wipe.
Then assemble dry and hopefully stop it happening. Plastic flush pipe works better - but I know customers often prefer chrome.

When possible, I prefer the external type flush pipe connectors. Second best are the white internal type. I'm not keen on the transparent internal type as they seem slippy to me.

What type are you using?

Hi
It’s a black fin style seal. Only a cheap one from Screwfix. Do you recommend any particular brand. Could you send me a link to any?
