Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has one of these two vans? Verdicts please!

I need to replace my trusty 06 plate Combo.

Berlingo is nice to drive but not a lot of room in the back. Never driven the new connect but I do like the look of them.

I have a 14 reg Berlingo, very happy with it. A mate of mine has just got himself a 64 connect. Looks slightly bigger in the back and the drivers seat is like sitting in the driving seat of the space shuttle. Same as the wife's focus.

I've got a 63 plate berlingo, nice looking van, nice to drive and one hell of a lot cheaper than the connect. I paid £8.5k + vat for mine when it was 10 months old with 1000 miles on the clock.

I'd say the beelingo is gonna work out a lot cheaper, but you have to decide yourself what ye want from the van. Connect is prob a lot more comfortable. Both should last well, ye see plenty of old ones knocking about

I have to admit I would rather have the transit, but they were going to cost an extra 6-7k plus vat so I just couldn't justify it.

Interesting points, thanks guys!

The Berlingo is cheaper but the Transit Connect looks a different level in terms of quality.

would never go french again, the landy jumps over frenchie for reliability, and that is good for a land rover, ford on the other hand if there anything like our old but well worked transit are super reliable

True points on the French call, although not heard many stories on the Berlingo in terms of issues though personally!

My old berlingo kept in going till 156k miles without a problem, would still be going now if it weren't for a dodgy mechanic 🙁

Ironic ford uses the same PSA engine in some of their smaller vans as the french manufacturers.
So if you dont like the french possibly also avoid psa powered fords

How you finding the van?

Local Ford garage cancelled on me for the Transit Connect, then I went against my word and test drove a Caddy van as a friend of a friend was selling at a decent price. It's now parked outside my house (oops). Caddy 1.6 TDI Bluemotion lowered on Black Edition Audi Alloys, little higher than average mileage for a 12 plate but OK by me as it's been sat on motorway all of it's life and serviced by VW on the dot! Nice little remap, tint the rear windows and change stereo for a better one, I'll be happy!
