I do feel somewhat guilty that most times I post a question on here I have a problem, and today is no exception.
I will try to keep it brief. Yesterday one of my daughters called to say that she had a problem with water dripping through the flat beneath hers ceiling. She had panicked and called out a plumber. A well known firm with a well known reputation for ripping people off which they did until I told her to tell him to go and I would come to see her. Some 4 hours after plodding around the
M25 I duly arrived and she gace me the story. The plumber said the problem was the connection of the cistern flush pipe where it enter the pan. Well that was a lie to start with. The leak was coming from the seal between the parts shown by the arrow in pic 002.
Tightening that connection stopped the leak. So it is/was a right mess behind the tiles concealing the cistern. So I removed on of the tiles to clean it up. I then decided to remove the pan it is just sitting on the tiled floor. How that never leaked is beyond me as
the pan connector and pipe barely mated with the seal in the pipe shown in pic 003. Now recified by fitting a longer piece of p[ipe to the pan connector. Now all this is leading up to my main concern is that the pan just rests on the floor, on a bead of mastic with the mastic all around it. The pan is shown in pic 001 nowhere can I see how to affix it to either wall or floor, am I missing something. Many thanks in advance.
