i am wanting some adice with regards to pipe shrouds in chrome (for hot and cold water pipes). I am currently having a freestanding bath fitted. The copper pipes (and earthing wires) are exposed and unsightly. my taps (globe taps) fit onto the bath side rather than the roll top edge and therefore the exposed pipework after coming out the floor have a right angle to them. I can only find pipe shrouds that are straight. does anyone know of a supplier that does what i'm after? any other suggestions to deal with the problem would also be welcome. i hope that all makes sense.

Thanks

Don't know of anyone who makes what you're after.

However you could make your own nice looking tails to the pipe using 22mm chrome plated copper tube and a compression elbow (also chrome).

That way the pipework is on show but looks nice. I will post a picture where I have done somthing similar.

1.jpgThis is a picture of a bathroom I did about 2 years ago. The cross bonding is hidden in the boxing behind, but as some of the pipework is visible on surface, I ran it in chrome plated tube. Looks much nicer and isn't that expensive. Hope this helps. Hover over the picture to enlarge it.

thanks for responding. a picture would be really useful. could i also ask about the isolators and earthing wires for the pipes- is it okay to have these both under the floorboards?

Cross bonding earthing yes its OK. The isolators you should really have on surface...but no one with pillar taps EVER has them on surface...so no, don't fit them, and if the taps ever need a washer changed, the plumber will have to isolate the tank (or boiler or cylinder, depending on your system) it's no big deal.

Hope the pic helps.

Oh and the cover plates that you can see (which cover the hole in the boxing) are plastic but chrome plated. They look very nice, and cost very little.

that looks really good. i'll show these to my plumber and ask for the same. thanks for your help

No probs, you can also get chrome tap connectors so the entire assembly will be shiny and nice looking. Good luck.
