gas dead legs

whats people feelings on leaving deadlegs,,i have a situation were the gas pipe line needs upgraded from 15mm to 22mm,from the meter the pipe goes down and feeds the cooker and boiler in 15mm, the boiler pipe work comes up from a concrete floor,i can't access the pipe work as the floorboard section has these patterned sheets that inter lock,i could leave the 15mm gas pipework in and cap it were it comes up from the concrete floor but this leaves a 3 meter dead leg...thoughts please.

dont see any problem with it regulary pipe in dead legs as cooker points for customers who may or may not have a gas cooker to connect onto

i took my fire out, have got about 5 mt dead leg at home, no problem.

dead legs are only an issue on water because of bacteria,

if you get ill from the gas, its not because of dead legs lol

Agree with above, the pipe is not dead but live! Bit like an electric socket without something plugged in! 🙂

Might be fair to someone in the future if you leave a "label" under the floorboards or wherever.

Water in the service pipe can cause gas hammer.

If you have concerns then cap it desrob 🙂. If it is gas tight then you have no concerns either IMHO! You are not responsible for any future events, however there may be comebacks if in the future the pipe is required but unfortunately disconnected! Personally I'd voice my concerns with the custard and then let them decide 🙂
