Hey,
I have a gas fire , make unknown but seems to be of good quality, it was here when I moved here and did work fine. You need to press button to start up fan and the button lights up red, when the red light goes out you can then light the pilot light by pushing in another button. Well, the red light just stays lit, and when I do light the pilot light it just goes out one I release the button, can any one advise? Thanx.

Sounds like a turbotoaster.. can't remember off hand the manufacturer... however what you describe may be remedied by a simple service or the need for a flame rectification probe!!!

Hey, I've found the instructions for this fire and it is a CANNON if this helps? Thanx.....

You need a registered gas engineer to come out and look at it for you. Post a message in the looking for a plumber section if you don't know anyone locally.
