Morning,

My gas safe card has expired although i'm still listed on the GS register. My boss has told me to carry on working as my new card is in the post and just to use my old number - is this allowed as im thinking this aint right?
Cheers

Not sure all i know is that i have an out of date card , no new card yet and am being told to work but didnt know if this was allowed with no valid card whether in the post or not

Check on gas safe register if your on it, your number will show, if your not, then don't think you can work.

Stand to be corrected ................ When you first passed the test you were allowed to work as long as you were shown on the register even though the card was in the post.

nocardynoworky.

call gs in the morning and they will tell you straight away where the card is, otherwise your in deep.
who knows what your boss knows!!

my understanding is that you are fine to work.
Invariably there is always a delay between renewing and receiving.
Mine ran out on 4th.
Renewed on 3rd.
Still waiting but i know im covered

Not registration numbers but individual engineers numbers change at every card I think, I lost mine and needed a replacement and am sure it came with a new engineer number

Having the card is to prove to customer you are on the list, actually being on the list is the legal bit, if you go on the website and type your old number into it you won't be there are the card has expired, go onto "check a business" then "view engineers" if you are there you can work, if you aren't there you cannot, you can also check with Gas Safe Customer services on Monday, 0800 408
