Gas safe qualifications

Hello I am new to this but looking to persue a career in Gas plumbing and electrics.
I have no experience but have friends and family working in the building industry. All self employed. I have a chance to learn from a gas safe certified person the basics.

So far i know this.
I need to show that i have learned the fundamentals stage 1
Provide a portfolio with a certified gas engineer. stage 2
Complete the ACS assessment ( Ccn1 ) stage 3

Is this correct and if not what else should I do.

I dont want to spend 4 k for these fast track courses unless anyone recommends them to me.

some information would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Skip the gas and plumbing. Become an electrician.

You'll need plumbing experience. A lot of boiler 'faults' I see are not related to the boiler but a plumbing/heating issue.

If you have loads of family members already in the building trade and who are self employed, then you already have your foot in the door. Also having someone to assist you with Gas work is a bonus.
