I have only ever registered with gas safe but all the spiel when they took over was how they would be better value and a better service to registered engineers.

So to the those of you out there who have been registered with both corgi and GS how do the two compare ?? what was the cost for registering / renewing with corgi?

£186 to renew with GS i don't call that good value, especailly with the lack of definative advice they offer to engineers.

at least they haven't sold all my contacts details on to other companies such as Green installer in Scotland so they can try to poach all my future service contract customers Corgi

Yeah, that's pretty despicable too :13:

Basically the same , same people employed, only difference nice new office block 200 yards up the road, same local inspectors, same attitude, screw us for as much as they can, wile doing as little as possible, same reply's if you ask a question ! 1. Its a bit of a grey area, 2. Your the engineer on site its up to you. Will-not commit to anything, So you've not missed anything by not belonging to CORGI they will both turn you over the first chance they get, Very little if any loyalty to its Members

Gas safe was slightly cheaper if I remember as they allowed online renewals? Also gas safe is probably the cheapest of the CPS out there I think.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say actually I'm not to fussed about the fees, sure I'd rather it was for free but I get an informative magazine every month which keeps me up to date, a tech line albeit pretty useless in most situations and registration onto a CPS along with all the notifications etc. £180 quid is reasonable if you ask me. Try Any of the other CPS for electrical, MCS, green deal registation etc and you can double that for less benefit.

one thing I'm not to happy with is the cost of resitting your quals, which equates to sitting in a chair, a coffee or two and a book to find the answers from.

gas safe havent raised the prices for a few years corgi upped it virtually every yearthink ive only had one inspection i the last 8 years
