geting air out of towel rail

hi lads, went to a job today to fix a towel rail , wasnt getting warm , anyway sorted that and noticed it was only getting hot to middle (top full of air) now i cant open the bleed key as its totally rounded/flatend , and i cant replace it as ive never seen one like this before in my 5 years plumbing . i cant either replace the towel rail as the feet ar aroud 2 inches round and some body has cut the non slip flooring around the, so if i was to fit a new one there would be 2 holes in the non slip around 2 inch round, there is no other fitting whatsoever in the top of the towel rail , any ideas how i can get rid of the air?????? system was an open vented!

noooo tamz like a blody sinked self tapper kind of theing UNDER the bar! and to make it wor its a slotted one, whoever invented slotted screws ...............

I have two of these in the garage going for scrap, you are welcome to the bleed screws if it will help you.

It's an old one then.
You'll get it out with an easy out (google it) or saw a better slot in it (you will damage the shoulder but it shouldn't be noticeable)

Take off towel rail, fill with water upside down plug inlets refit to valves one at a time.
I know this might sound a stupid idea and would need done again if system was drained down but its the only thing i can think of without replacing towel rail

whilst its upside down, drill out the bleed screw retap it and new screw, then you wont have to faff around with filling it and .................................

That is exactly what I was going to suggest, it could work for a long time or a few weeks depending on the system, but gets it going again for now

can you drill hole and make thread with tap&dice then fit one of these? Toolstation > Heating > Central Heating > Air Vent just an idea 😀
