Hi Just took order of the new Glenhill green envirofoam vented copper cylinder. Unfortunately I did not realise the green cylinder in the pictures was actually a plastic sheet over the insulation.
This is going on a kitchen wall and previous one was the spray on foam painted white to blend in with the wall. The green plastic cover look isnt done very well on the top ridge the seem is on the outside and there is a big crease along one side. My question is has anyone ever taken the thin plasitc cover off to just leave the white foam insulation. ? Or is the plastic holding the insulation together. I tried phoning Glenhill but they were little help as the only answer I got was it will invalidate the warrantee if you took the plastic cover off...
Has anyone tried to paint these with the plasitc on ?

It's an ugly thing all around no matter what the colour but I wouldn't remove the protective layer.

The normal/usual thing would be to build or have built an accessible enclosure rather than have it exposed plus you might want to add another cylinder jacket for an optimal amount of insulation.

Failing that a flexible spray for plastic will probably be do like Plastikote or vinyl but test on a small section first.
