One of my customers has a large ongoing job and on the next phase he wants to install a GSHP. The plan is to run underfloor heating only for 2 new areas from it. It's not a huge space,a 12 kw output will be fine. He already has one fitted in another property and so has realistic expectations of performance.I've not installed one before and so I'd just like to get some opinions and advice.

I've explained I've not done this before but I'm keen to do so,my customer knows me and my work and he's happy for me to learn on this one. We've met the rep from one company already, but haven't committed to anything yet.

Any thoughts?

Your customer will save money if you're MCS registered and the heat pump is on the list...assuming the RHI arrives as we hope. So it might be worth doing a heat pump course. I did it down at Nu-Heat - they also have an umbrella scheme so you can become MCS registered quite quickly...but you have to use the products they supply (Nibe, Hitachi). They will also do all the tech stuff so you know it's sized correctly. 12kw sounds a bit much if it's only a small area...

Thanks for that lads, actually Kensa are the company that have looked at the job already, they've got a branch in Exeter where I live and Nu-Heat are 10 miles away so it will be between them. I'm looking to get into renewables so a course makes perfect sense.
