have a fault on a halstead best 50

had a new fan last year and the boiler is intermitantly not firing up normally in a morning, demand is the clicks but no ignition, changed the ignition circuit board for one i had lying around and fault has re-occured, seems to happen first thing in morning than after turing spur on and off boiler operates correctly afterwards, any ideas on any thing else i can check lads?

No offense but the one you had lying around probably has the same fault ( the ignition relay) I have made temporary repairs to these boards by re soldering the relay connections until I replaced the board with a new one. There are loads of these around my way but don't carry pcb as spares as they are to expensive

yea i was thinking that, as the symptoms have pritty much always been the ignition board, is it the relay connection that normally causes them to work intermitantly? think ill get a new board and try that, as im positive thats what it is! had loads were i have fixed with new boards but i have used a few used boards taken off working boilers and have always been ok aswell, but this one has been in my garage for a while

If you separate the plastic case to see the board you should be able to see the dodgy area around the relay
