oldplumber

got a call today from a customer whos fan I replaced 3 weeks back on his ideal heap. He wasnt happy as it had brocken down on xmas day with the same fault, so he says. last time he diagnosed it was all down to the aps failing (but the fan had seized on inspection, but he still thought I was ripping him off when I replaced it😡) So today I was informed it was the same fault as last time and all my fault, so I asked how he knew what was wrong, and got no reply apart from I had ruined his xmas and it must be something I had done, so I asked again what was the problem which he didnt have an answer to so I said id pop over and find out what was wrong, then we could apportion any blame if any, and he started shouting, so down went my phone. I presume he's still cold.🙄
However the 2 people who called me out last night have working boilers and were very happy despite the rather high costs for labour. So a polite and friendly customer always gets a good result in my books, does anyone out there consider being shouted at gets better service?😀😀
 
if i get shouted at i will not attend a fault,i am not in this game to get verbal abuse,but if there civil no issues
 
I had a happy custormer once,sure I did 🙄

or maybe it was a mates customer,know I have seen one smile before 😕

had customer on the phone mount back ,asking how much it will cost to fit a free standing cooker? polite as always i was trying to find out more info about his job ,so could give him price strait on the phone but he start shouting that all he want is a price for the job so i told him strait no abuse taking at all on my said of the phone !!!so i put the phone down on him ,after got angry on my self why did not i just told the f@@er £150.00 and wait for his reaction ,i even thought my self to ring back and really ****ed him off ...but been a nice guy i did not .
still now i wish i did !!!
but hey they all expect us to work for free and if possible job to get done yesterday(hope you get what i mean )
 
i went to install a gas hob for a lady as she phoned 7 engineers and not one of em got back to her and been waiting a month and she emailed me and i went next day installed the hob,charged her £95 and she was so happy coz she

thought she would not get it done in time for christmas she gave me £30 tip and got an email saying how grateful she was as if it was not for me she would not of been able to cook her xmas dinner thats a nice feeling you get when

someone appreciates what you do.

i think price not always matters as long as you turn up when you say and do a good job
 
I had a guy call me up and expected me to fit a boiler he had "acquired" the following day. I asked him how he sized the boiler and he said it was roughly the same size as the old one, he tried to assure me "it will fit inside the kitchen cupboard same as the old one".. When I explained that it doesn't work like that he got all defensive, saying his mate sized it for him. He then stated I assume you will be using the old flue. I almost choked.. again, super-mate had advised him. I explained I was extremely busy but good luck with that mate, give me a call end of January!
