Has anyone heard of Construction Skills College Ltd?

Hello there, I'm looking to do a plumbing course (I'm at entry level) and am based in Stoke and have found this course:

Quality Training Courses in Plastering courses – Plumbing courses – Tiling courses – Electrical courses – Carpentry Courses – Joinery courses – Kitchen Fitting Courses – Bricklaying courses – Painting and Decorating courses – LEA courses – Bespoke co

It's a five day course and is 350 pounds.

Has anyone done this course or had any dealings with them, or would anyone recommend any intro plumbing courses in the Stoke area.

Any help would be really appreciated.

I'm Dave from Construction Skills College training centre in Stoke. Our new website has feedback from customers and information about the Matrix accreditation that we were recently accredited. We have also now been approved by City & Guilds and the Construction Awards Alliance.

If you wish you are welcome to call into the training centre and look around the facilities and have a chat about what you are after and whether the courses that we offer are what you are looking for. Are courses are an ideal starting point in plumbing and give you the skills required to complete a host of domestic jobs, if you wish to pursue a career as a plumber we will advice you of advanced courses that you can attend both at our college and at other local colleges.

a five day course is a waste of time and money if you want to do work in your own house its ok but if you want to do plumbing a job then you need C & G at lease. dont be dragged in by the offer of makeing £££££££ all these courses are the same you pay them your money and the full you with dreams when you finished the course your dreams become nightmares with no work or money, don't jump in think before you do anything if you still want to do plumbing check your local building collage the courses are free but alot of people try for a small amount of places

uug is right good advice college is the best route it may take longer to achieve a city and guilds but college do it correctly. phone up some of your local colleges and ask for advice even a night college is good.

Uug is both right and also wrong.
I don't agree with:
Not all training centres are the same and we don't drag people in with the offer of making ££££££'s after completing a course. Our short courses are ideal if you wish to learn to complete basic domestic plumbing for around your own home. The courses are also ideal if you are thinking of a career in plumbing but want to attend an intro course to get a feel for the trade. The courses are also beneficial to multi skill trades people who wish to or need to complete small plumbing jobs.

I do agree with:
Don't jump into booking onto any course, research all your options and visit all centres/colleges that you can to get a feel for the training available.
Local college courses such as the 6129 are an excellent option if you wish to progress into plumbing, register now for courses even if there are no spaces until September, it will soon be here. Ask the colleges about prices as not all courses are free as it depends on individual circumstances.
