my boss and myself are in disagreement about the boiler system at work... he is always turning it off when there is nobody in the hotel thinking he is saving money and then turning it back on when the guests are due in .i believe it is better to keep the boilers on low when no guests are in then turn up boiler before they arrive. i think it is cheaper to heat warm water than to keep turning boiler on and off and heating water from cold all the time... who is right or are we both wrong and should be doing something else...............thanks in advance for any feedback...................

what is the time span between guest visits,is it a new well insulated system/cylinder or old inefficient one ?

Also what sort of controls are on the system is each floor or each room got a thermostat

hi the boiler system is 3 years old , well insulated , the time between guests just now can be from 1 day to 6 days at present , obviously when we shut for 2 months at end of season the boilers will be shut off ... but through out season they should be on in my opinion........

I would say your assumption is correct but then I would put a caviat on that by saying that rooms or floors not being used should be set back to a lower temperature to conserve energy
