Silvia

Hello, my name is Silvia and I am new to the forum, which I found great the minute I started reading it ,while I was looking for an answer to my dilemma.🙄
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am in the process of buying a flat and after seeing it today I have a few reservations.
One of them is a noisy water pump located in the toilet under the basin. I was wondering if anything can be done to insulate or soundproof a water pressure pump as the noise is quite considerable.

Also, I was wondering whether the pump will go on when the gas central heating gets switched on.... as I am a bit concerned the noise could go on forever in the winter. This last is my main concern, as I can cope with some noise while taking the shower or when washing the dishes, but if the pump stays on for 4 hours in a row, while heating the flat, I think I could go mental.

Please help! I am a bit unexperienced and finding this out today was a bit of a downer, as I really like the flat and I am close to exchanging contracts.

Many thanks in advance to who can help me make up my mind.

Cheers, Silvia

is it really that loud, it could just be that the board its attached to is vibrating, Maybe its worked itself lose.

It may be on it's way out and needs replacing or could be as said above hitting a piece of wood when in operation. Maybe get a plumber in to check it out

gd luck

Thanks very much for all your replies.
It is quite noisy, but bearable if on for a few minutes, being located in the bathroom. I am just worried that if the heating is on the pump will be on for hours.... that would annoy me.... I'll get a plumber to have a look at it as I have no experience with how loud it should be and if it is on its way out and needs replacing.

Thank you guys.

Silvia
