Went and had a look this morning and it's all changed! haha
She has a fairly new worcester 28i junior already in. She wanted that moved or boxed in. Where she wanted it moved to was not possible so I have recommended that she has a cupboard built around it.
The boiler is on a plug in to a socket behind the washing machine, and there is another socket coming off that which the washing machine plugs in to so I will have to put a spur in for that. If she wants me to that is.
She wants all new rads so will quote for that plus valves. The dining room has a wall separating that from the kitchen, she is having that knocked through so it's all one big room and the rad in the dining room is pretty big and she wants a smaller one there instead. no probs.
Not really any gas work other than decommissioning an old fire that she no longer wants.
Now for the exciting bit. She has a large bathroom upstairs and a bedroom next to it. (but not in line if you understand). She wants the bathroom ripped out so she can turn it in to a bedroom and the bedroom turned in to a bathroom. It's doable but won't be easy. All bathrooms need to have ventilation fitted correct? Will need to look in to that.
Cast iron stack being replaced so will need to look in to having that removed and connecting on to where we cut it at the bottom if that's allowed. Already I can see how i will learn a lot as I will now have to start looking up regs etc as I usually turn up to a job and fit it.
I have a mate who can help and who needs experience - his pipework and bending are excellent. better than mine and he's fairly clued up. Will be good for the 2 of us to work and learn together.
Will be busy today sorting my van and doing self assessment so will make a start tomorrow putting a quote together. She was keen to listen to our suggestions and admitted she didn't know what was what. She said she has a budget but didn't come across as someone who will question everything little thing.
Concerning whether she owns the house yet or not, she is in the process of having the mortgage approved, she said it will take approximately 5 weeks to finalise. - suits me, it means I can go back for another look and organise time off work, oh yeah and ask 100's of questions on here! I will not be ordering a single thing until the house is hers or she pays.
I will do a couple of different quotes, might turn out to be a waste of time but it's all part of learning the trade.
Thanks for all the help so far.
