We are very lucky to have one of the notorious Baxi Bahama 100's.

To be fair, it's been ok for us - albeit a few flow switch changes.

Unfortunately, it has decided to not work at all now! My husband has changed the flow switches and we do have a prv on order which should hopefully be here tomorrow in the hope that's what needed doing but so far, it's not working!

When starting the boiler, there is no flame and it will not ignite. It sounds as though it's starting up but then nothing happens and the 'Lockout' light appears on the front and everything stops.

I have tried googling this problem but obviously, there are many problems that people have with this boiler but am hoping that someone out there may have a few ideas as to what it could be.

Also, obviously the prv will be changed tomorrow - if thats faulty, does anyone know if that would cause the lockout of the boiler?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your quick reply.

When you put the boiler on, everything starts i.e. the fan starts up as if the boiler is trying to spark but then it can't and the boiler just goes into lockout.

There's no spark there at all - absolutely nothing!!!

You can hear it all trying to start up but it's like it just needs a shove to actually light up!

Where are you going with this? If someone on here tells you its a gas valve would you change it ? Or a burner?

On some boilers with an aps fault there will not be a "reset light" it will just wait for ever and ever with the fan on.

Do not start opening up the combustion chamber, people think we say this to scare them

We dont, gas and more importantly the CO produced by them when burning badly is extremely dangerous. I used to be an aircraft engineer and I tell you these boilers are more dangerous than any aircraft engine.

Please call an engineer, we dont all want you to remortgage your house to pay for a boiler repair.

If its going to lock out and not sparking sounds like an ignitor prob to me, worst case the board.

But the APS needs checking first.

After I was given a quote off Baxi for £320 to get them to come and look at the boiler, I did think that asking on this forum was worth a try.

I, maybe naively, thought that perhaps someone could or would suggest something simple prior to me getting the 'big boys' out.

Therefore in reply to you're 'where are you going with this' question, I was merely asking for basic help.

Get Baxi out, they did not take it off the market after 18 months for nothing.

Make sure you turn the electric of until it is fixed...You do not want APS Meltdown (Catches fire) on this.

the aps does catch fire...............so does the boiler if its a sit variant,it has no lwp,sit soft ware cant react fast enough,if it runs low on water and if in dhw mode will cut out and re fire to full rate for 20 seconds will keep doing this until aps melts or heat exchanger

the aps catches fire ? shouldnt baxi be replacing these boilers then for customers sounds like a major safety issue
