Hi

I have a problem with a kitchen sink recently fitted. I have noticed water running through to the cabinet below. When I've looked closer I can see it is because there is no pipe connecting the overflow vent to the main waste pipe. The overflow is on the sink drainer near to the basin and has the plug chain attached. When I contacted the kitchen fitter he told me that it doesn't need a pipe and that it needs a 'blank' fitting to cover the hole. I can't believe that this is right? He isn't very forthcoming with where I can get this blank so I am left with a sink with a hole in the top.

I am not technical in any way so I don't know the name of the pipe or if I'm right that there should be a pipe connection. Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Rachel

id buy a new kitchen sink waste if i was you ! if its a standard ish one!

overflow, is what its called

used when water is overflowing to go down the drain instead of the floor.

pics would help, we may be able to tell you how to sort it, or what to get to sort it

I've found the overflow kit online at Taps UK. thanks for your comments.

get a tub of glue and glue it together, I never trust it not glued (solvent cement)
