Help! No water from mains coming in!

Hi Everyone
Can anyone advise me please? I don't appear to have any water coming in through the main supply. No leaks extnerally it just doesnt seen to be getting any further than the stop tap under the sink. Prior to this there was a problem in the loft with the hot water tank. The air valve on the primary return pipe was spraying water out so i turned the mains supply off and also the supply to the tank. The following evening when i tried to turn them on again nothing was coming through from the mains.

Any ideas would be a great help, i'm completely at a loss!🙁

Your valve could be stuck off and the spindle snapped so it feels like its moving but it isn't. You need to locate the external stop tap then replace the internal stop tap.

Its alright heres hoping its that 🙂 Also try and drain off as much water via drain off point or low tap like a cold bath tap otherwise the entire contents of the house pipework will pour all over the floor.

I only thought of it as i had a power cut few weeks ago, waited ages for it come back on, turns out everyyone else had power and my cable had broken
