help with becoming a plumber

Hi i am intrested in a new career as a plumber i have looked at the fast track course in getting my city and guilds its a 2 year course but would like to know how to get on with another plumber to learn the trade i live in the oldham area and have transport and willing to travel. with full time trainning from a proffesional and doing the fast track course then obtaining my NVQ in the work place would that be enough to find work or hopefully stay on with the company who helps with the trainning. i am very eager and would love some help in this matter thanks craig
