hi im new and need advice

hi every one
i have got one of those customers that are being a pain as some are
i done a job about 4 years ago and the boiler has now gone wrong i have been told by customer that is due to no inhibitor added to system a valve has burnt out
but i never completed the job it was done just before xmas and i was asked to get it running for xmas which i did and to come back when they were ready for more of the work to be done
it was several week before i was called back at which time i was unable to complete the job so i sent other plumbers to finish system and other work.
when they where there the customer was moaning about my work that she was not happy about and didnt want me to go and complete so they finished off and left she never paid me up for materials that they used form my suppliers account
now she has phoned me up and demarding i pay for the work on her heating system to fix due to no inhibator in system after 4 years
i never fullycomished the system due to i only got it running for xmas and i knew it would have to be drained down to have extra rads fitted so i saw no point to put inhiabator into sysem only to be drained out a few weeks later
i never finshed job so i see it as the last person to fill it up after fitting the rads should have done this
it should have been checked on serving checks over the last 4 years

this is one of those job that the customer thinks i will gauntee for ever even though she was a cheep skate and the only reason i wasnt allound back was she found some one cheeper to finish the job

any advice would be welcome

i have to agree with you, whoever was last to refill the system should of put inhibitor in regardless of what else happened before.

tell her to jog on mate, you always get it.......my boilers gone wrong but it was serviced 3 years ago and all the other poor excuses some people try on. Theres no way thats your fault.

I would be inclined to tell her to get stuffed and send her a small claims for the materials used just to equally upset her . She doesn't legally have a leg to stand on as she didn't let you finish the job or pay you. We all get caught with one of these from time to time.

Go round and drain the system and then say you need to go and get some inibhitor, just make sure the stopcock is turned of and the handle is removed

She sjust sounds like one of these people who want the work done but don't want to pay for it! In fact she actually sound's evil! I would just be firm with her and tell her that you are not going back!

pigmad i totally agree with all the other posters, she hasn't got a leg to stand on after four years. just remind her she still owes you for materials and labour and that she kicked you off the job. if nothing has been done to the system in the last four years it is a case of stupidity by the customer and nothing to do with you.

i just remembered, i did add inhibitor before i left.....

are you now telling me the last guys in who did heating work didnt add any?.

by the way, about the money you owe me.......she will hang up by then.lol.
