Sir Monkfish

Hi all,

First off I need to say that this forum is a mine of info, the search function is top drawer.

However, I've painted myself into a corner with my Halstead boiler and wanted to ask for some advice:

It all started with a faulty AAV leaking water - got that changed and then the PRV let go with dripping water outside - replaced that and ever since the pressure has been high.

Did some research and it led me to thinking that the plate heat exchanger could be goosed, letting water across from DHW to CH, I could see evidence of water weeping out across the top of the exchanger too, so I replaced that last night. It all went to plan except for the bypass pipe - when I removed and replaced it I've got a leak there now!!

Anyway, took a look this morning and pressure is straight back up, all the same as before, dripping outside - no change at all - gutted!!

Any other suggestions? I've read about problems relating to high pressure being linked to the expansion vessel?

Pressure is high all the time.

Have you checked the most obvious cause of the filling loop letting by?

Yes but not properly. Thinking back all I did was shut the second valve -will disconnect overnight and see what happens....

Cheers for the quick replies!

If filling loop not letting by as mentioned the next probable cause will be the expansion vessel.
