I have just replaced my vented cylinder with a Kingspan Copperform 250l unvented cylinder. However I want to keep my Honeywell smartfit system rather than having to have my heating system rewired. Just for reference the smartfit cylinder sensor simply attached to the vented cylinder using a strap however the kingspan cylinder comes with it's own cylinder sensor.

Has anyone had any experience in adapting the smartfit cylinder sensor to fit the Kingspan cylinder.

You have to use the one supplied with the cylinder on an unvented cylinder. It needs to have a non resetting thermal cut out. I'm surprised that the approved person that you used to fit the potential bomb didn't point this out to you. You are aware that the installation of an unvented cylinder is notifiable under part G of the building regulations and should only be carried out by suitably qualified persons?

Its not strictly the case that you have to use the one supplied with the cylinder... see http://www.heatweb.com/pdf/Honeywell/4578%20%20INS.INSTRUCTIONS.pdf. Also the plumber I have used is approved to fit these types of cylinders. The issue is that I want to retain the smartfit system not him
