Hi,

If this works right I'm wanting to make an anonymous poll so we can see what plumbers/gas fitters really earn each year (before tax).

If you want to complete it: -

Please only complete it if you are self-employed (either as a sole trader or a 1 man limited company). Please choose the option that represents your annual profit before tax for the most recent financial year you completed.

Please only complete it if you have a full financial year of data.

I'd be interested to see the results, as I'm sure some of you would be.

PS If you are self-employed please include any salary you paid yourself (before tax). EG if you paid yourself £20,000 before tax and you also made a profit of £12,000 you would have made £32,000 of profit before tax for the purposes of this poll.

You should do 1 for the employed apparently I earn lower than low wages

Might be time for a pay rise

First year of trading I think I made minus £900
Second year of trading just finished. Prob made around £15k profit.
Don't know if that's good or bad for first two years of self-employment with no gas and the skills of a fast tracker.
Little short of miraculous I'm guessing.

Sounds good to me mate

Thanks. Problem is most of it was months ago. Had a couple of thousand pounds weeks within two months of each other. Lots of £500/£600 weeks. But I've been skint for about 3 months. £150 a week if I'm lucky.

I'm in same boat mate. Got a couple of jobs coming up that will be good earners, prob 1k a week for 4 weeks, but before and after that? Picking up bits and pieces. It's got to pick up soon else I'll be looking at alternative work.

I'm not working for £8 and hour doing this when I could work in a blumin warehouse for more. It's ludicrous. Should've listened to my dad and studied engineering, but now it's too late.

Should really have become a lawyer.
Paid if you win, paid if you lose, paid if you give good advice and paid if you don't.
Plus the added benefit of perhaps one day going into government, bankrupting a country and; you guessed it, getting paid even more money for speeches.
