how to stop tap moving

OK guys, here's the thing.

I put a new set of taps on my bathroom sink a few weeks ago and all was well and they do look nice. Yesterday SWMBO complained that the hot tap was moving and indeed it was even though the nut underneath is nice and tight.

What I think has happened is that, when she is cleaning she squirts the Cif onto the sink near the tap like she is trying to put out a fire 😡 and it has got under the tap and washer making it greasy so now the tap turns.

Is there a way to stop the tap moving? Apart from banning the missus from cleaning the sink - that is never going to happen other wise I would have to do it 😡.

if the tap has a plastic nut under it you may have split it when tightening and it will have moved now, i would change the nut for another (brass if possible)

you could also use a tap fixing kit, i find them better than just the nut and washers that comes with most taps.

The easiest way is to use a STIKFAST washer.
This is a double sided stick washer (see attached image)
You should be able to but this at your local plumbers merchants

We are a diamond drilling company and our product is listed with a distributor called Arctic products.

Arctic also list another product (nothing to do with us) called Split-Klick. Its a replacement kit for a top hat tap washer which can be split in two, and fitted without removal of the pipework. And it then snaps shut.
