Howdens joinery/kitchens

I went into my local Howdens trade counter to buy a kitchen mixer tap that a customer specified, the person on the trade counter told me my account was closed as I hadn't used it for a while, I asked if I could buy the tap with a card or cash, I was told no as I didn't have an account.

I know Howdens do not sell to retail customers but only to the trade but I am trade and I've had my account closed twice by this branch now as I rarely use Howdens.

Has anyone else been turned away from buying from Howdens?

I was told I would have to fill in a form again and give bank details etc.
I've never fitted a kitchen but I fit lots of kitchen sinks and taps and I have bought lots from Howdens in the past, but lately customers have bought sinks for me to install.

Seems very odd for them to turn away business.

I don't see the need to close them unless you say 'I don't want an account with you anymore' so what if it hasn't been yours for a while, how is it causing a problem there not going to give your account number to someone else who opens a new account, I just don't see the point. Rant over lol

Update.
I went to another Howdens branch in a nearby town today, and bought a mixer tap.
They were very happy to serve me, they didn't have a good word to say about my local branch of Howdens.

My kitchen was howdens.... Waited till 12.00 on last Saturday of month, his sales were low, he started off at £7.5k at about 9 by 12 it was more like £4.8 ! And got a "free dishwasher" lamona crap!

Despite the fact they are all one company they are in direct competition with each other..... sales sales sales!
