Hi all,

I'm Richard, I'm 27 and my employer has offered to put me through any training required to become a plumbing and heating engineer.

Any advice on what course and who to go with? Or is it best to go back to college? They've said something about apprenticeship and I'd keep my current salary. The way I see it, it's like all my Christmases have come at once! Very pleased and excited to embark on a new career. Just need to know what's best going forward.

Thanks

Rich

Welcome, lots of info about. You have to be committed to be a plumbing and heating engineer! Sign on at college for your three course

Howdy!
Apprenticeship is the way if you are in it for the long haul. Check out your local colleges for their NVQ2 2 year apprenticeship. Any other form of training will be much more expensive (apprenticeship just couple hundred quid) plus nowhere near as in-depth.

But if you have enough experience already you might just want a gas ticket there are short courses you can do for that to save 4 years of your life 🙂
