How can you work out the gas consumption and tell if the boiler is working safely as it was designed if you don't gas rate it?
With respect sparra I think you are getting confused somewhere here. You MUST have a gas rate!
Back to basics sparra.
You MUST either take a Burner Pressure or Gas Rate to confirm the safe operation of a gas boiler. (and ideally both where possible) There is NO exception to this!!!
Don't know what you think you have been taught, but it is wrong.
A zero governed 24KW boiler may be consuming 34KW of gas. This is operating outside the manufacturers safe design limits; so how can you confirm this if you do not gas rate it?:banghead:
Agree. Inlet working press could stil be right. No matter what the rating
hence cpa 1 if your gas rate is high your analyser will tell you by high ratio,s and co/co2 readings which is why cpa come in due to zero governers
Trust us here sparra. No one here is trying to give you a bum-steer. I do not know where you were taught or what you were taught, but based on your last few posts on this topic you are either getting slightly confused or were taught a load of rubbish.hence cpa 1 if your gas rate is high your analyser will tell you by high ratio,s and co/co2 readings which is why cpa come in due to zero governers
Hi.
Doing gas rate on Ideal Icos he12 condensing boiler,I've got result of 34kW input.Boiler got zero governor gas valve.Combustion test point is not present and flue terminal is somewhere on the roof. Can someone advise me,please,is that gas valve adjustable or it is just broken and needs to be replaced?Regards[/QUOTE
Hi lads new to this site, but can you time the test dial for full revolution if imp meter,if metric give the readings before and after you gas rated and that should check it this one is a bit of a mystery
