I had an absolute nightmare this morning. First job of the day, swap a pump and valves on a boilermate 2000. Thinking it would be a nice easy one. Turn off the power, drain down, swap pump and valves. All going well, fill it up, no leaks which is always a bonus haha. Turn the power back on and try to get it running, but it appears there is no demand for the boiler. Bit odd, then I notice the display is blank on the pcb. Turns out the pcb has decided to blow just but flicking the power either on or off. New board is £185+vat and none in stock anywhere, explained to the customer what happened and they took it quite well. Still cant help but feel they will think its my fault even though it isn't. What do you guys do in this situation, do you take the hit on the part or maybe offer to fit for free etc. I don't see why I should pay, but its just a bit of a crap situation to be in.
