Masood

Just been to see an old lady with a totally knackered instantaneous water heater. I felt so sorry for her I just blurted out that I'd fit her a combi for basically cost price. Now I feel stupid for selling myself short!

On the plus side, there's 22mm gas supply at the boiler, really easy access, and only the DHW to connect up. No central heating so no powerflush.

In and out in about 2 hours I reckon...

so unless your fitting an integas how many rads you putting in in 2 hours?

You'll need more than that if she takes her teeth out

I'd have probably done the same. I've got a soft spot for pensioners but I hate them  They are bad for the bank balance.

how many combis are designed to work without central heating, I'd advise a new water heater instead!

Vaillants work quite happily with no rads. Gives her future options for masood to have a pay day when the cold weather comes!

would have thought the diverter would sieze up if not used, intergas option better, no diverter to sieze up 🙂

They are that, Tam. I always end up earning naff all with pensioners...

Karma does exist my friend.......its never in a rush, but in the end you can sleep at night. Old folk always get me as do skint families with kids........i must be mad.

Rather than karma I prefer 'no good deed goes unpunished'. Always tend to get royally shafted when trying to help somebody.

I always charge pensioners more! You KNOW they're going to call you back for some random reason, and I've heard the skint thing to many times. Sob stories don't pay my bills.
Cue the abuse.

No abuse from me, I agree.

Perhaps i'm just treating the old fogies as i will want to be treated in a few years......i'll be a pensioner sooner than you no doubt.....i think its like when the oldies start to get all religious as they take their seat in the departure lounge.

i could've predicted that!

Tam you like the pensioners cause that's your target age group now, fair play to you all for doing the old dears a turn, it's actually sickening that our pensioners NEED a favour from guys like you to get by, don't start me on the politics of this country

I think i'm their target age group Kirk. I went to a recommendation job last week and the first words from the old dear as she opened the door was "oh you really are a nice big laddie"!!!
It took me all my time not to laugh and then the next hour trying to stop her clapping me

I agree with you. Pensioners should get better looked after. Most sacrificed a lot for this country and if they have a few k stuffed away it is not because they are loaded, it is because they have scrimped and saved and done without all their lives for the rainy day

logics work fine without cetral heating as well as app says gives options

Thought logic world be one of the worst for this application? Did logic course few years back, we always told to leave 10% boiler capacity on locksheilds.

i work down on exmoor

A mate of mine says a new guy started at the company he's at. Grumpy bugger from Devon who's staying with family in Portsmouth. Thought you had family in Pompey? And You ticked the grumpy box!
