I always charge pensioners more! You KNOW they're going to call you back for some random reason, and I've heard the skint thing to many times. Sob stories don't pay my bills.
Cue the abuse.

I feel I need to correct my post a little. I do look after pensioners, try to give good advise and not do unnecessary work. The same as every other customer I work for. I've heard so many sob stories in immune.

No no don't backtrack now just because you sounded like a sour old sod! At least you'll be warm on judgement day...:reddevil:

There's only two sets of people I charge a higher rate and that's farmers and people who tell me how easy it will be.

The main is a decent heater. Still available (and better) as a BF if the big hole is already there.

No need for condensing.

I thought Main still made the water heaters, but can't find it on their website.

I still think of Main as a water heater brand, like the Trent, Mersey and Medway - Main boilers are johnny-come-lately.

Ariston still list one.

Only ones ive ever fitted have been Mains and never fitted one for a good 5 or 6 years now.
I'd be tempted to stick a se vokera or sabre in and loop the heating side. Probably be cheaper to buy. No need to go condensing as no heating.

I did think of the Sabre as they're knocking them out dirt cheap, but how short can the CH loop be? Needs a bit of length to dissipate heat, no? The whole kitchen is tiled, and there'd be nowhere to run the pipework...

Drill hole from return to outside and run along wall the. Back in to flow. Probably be a nice arm Warmer in garden?

Thought logic world be one of the worst for this application? Did logic course few years back, we always told to leave 10% boiler capacity on locksheilds.

Well it worked a treat , cust had a flat above a shop had electric wall heaters and wanted a combi put in for future proofing . He bought a logic because of 7 year warranty i installed it and put couple lengths 22mm under floor on loop .

Never had any issues

Thanks Tam, but the BF flue is too short. Exit id off to side. The Main FF looks like it'd fit the bill though. What do you reckon to the Ariston Next 14?

I fitted one of the aristons about a year ago, was easy enough to fit and haven't had any issues yet. The only thing is the case is a bit of a pain in the arse to get on and off as you have to unplug the lead going to the display on the front and the lead is too short and its awkward trying to get it plugged back in when you want to put the case back on.
