Tries 3 or 4 times then cuts to fault ive been onto ideal and checked the resistance across the gas valve and they think the solenoid is overheating and slamming shut

I would think thats more than possible pal , could be worth a shot , or more to the point it may have to be.

There's not really alot in there to go wrong really is there. Hope a new valve sorts it.

Reason I asked is I have a working / secondhand valve , you could have cadged it if you were closer.
Let us know how you get on .
A lot of the wiring on the Icos harness / loom is starting to split and break but to be fair , they are old boilers now .

Not sure pal , think the overheat codes are L E / L F .i have heard of the 3 lines , but never seen them .
Probably means “ The End “

Hi guys. Thanks for all the help. Little update. Changed the gas valve over. Problem solved. They say trust your first(ish) instinct dont they.
