Morning. Are you a registered qualified gas engineer? Do you hold the commercial qualification needed also?

Jase you need to be Gas safe to get advice on Boiler repairs any advice can only be given in the private section for Gas Safe engineers and not in the public domain , if you are Gas safe registered then pm the moderators your registration details they will be checked and you will then be given access to this section of the forum . Failing that contact ideal directly for a one off repair don't allow parts to keep being swapped hoping to resolved the issue this this is false economy . Kop

My companies Gas Safe Engineer has been having the same issue at a site for 2 years now and hasn’t got to the bottom of it. It usually locks out on flame loss. He has changed the obvious parts and dismantled and refitted the flue to no avail. Combustion readings are always spot on. Generally when he attends it fires straight up with no problem evident however recently it has got worse and it is failing when he is on site. The flue is located in a windy spot and he has considered the possibility of downdraught causing the flame loss however it happens even when it’s not windy and the boiler was ok for 6 years before this started happening. I was Corgi registered for around 30 years and my engineer has been Corgi / Gas Safe registered for over 20 years. Any help would be appreciated particularly as our Client is a registered charity and we are now looking at replacing the boiler. We don’t charge them for our call outs but would have to charge them to replace the boiler.
