All the new houses here were fitted with Ideal boiler and most went wrong in the first 2 years, ours is under insurance and being replaced with Ideal Logic i30 FOC (not combi). But we pay installation excess c. £2,500. Q. Do we trust IDEAL again or pay to have other company. Such bad reports from the army of plumbers we have seen over the years. Opinion i30

I really like the ideal logic plus. Great boilers. All depends who fits them, any boiler chucked in by numptys will fail. Is that £2,500 the install cost or the excess?

Unfortunately they are only offering the standard and not the Ideal plus - I am impressed that the plus has 7 years guarantee but the standard only 2. £2500 plus VAT is for water tank and pipes and installation

Ideal logic + now installed 5 hours later broke down. After 9 years of problems was not gong to install Ideal but on insurance we have £1000 discount (only this make) and read this site. Thanks Phoenix. Likely no heating for Christmas, plumber returning but thinks its a part. Ideal don't care.

You could of had it fitted for £2500!! That's crazy excess!! How much do u pay a month?

That's a really high excess . Like already said the whole install could've cost that so don't know where they get there figures. Ideal as a brand do seem to be on the rise and there high end products are up there with the best. They seem to be heading in the right direction.

If it has broken down after 5 hours I would say install error probably. Or underlying fault with system. I'm surprised ideal don't want to know.

Barbra Streisand wouldn't have charged you that much excess.
That's a total rip off, as they seem to be charging prices as per new install.

Five hours then breakdown; could have been Streisand, as it sounds as if you installer knows as much about fitting as Streisand would.

Which insurance company?
