Hello everybody. I've just bought a new house and the previous owners left me nothing of any help whatsoever. Thanks previous owners!

Anyway I just wanted to understand the valves n pipes underneath my boiler

I think I have discovered an external filling loop under the worksurface

I have numbered the pipes for ease of response, please let me know what they correspond to and if they should be open/closed (I presume up-and-down means open, horizontal means closed, But please tell me if I'm wrong!)

Thanks in advance

A CH flow, B HW out, C gas, D cold water in, E CH return, F blow off.
You're right, if the valve is pointing with the pipe it's open.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. Very much appreciated. Could you please also tell me which ones I should leave closed?

If it's cold, that boiler doesn't need topping up, infact it's over pressure at 2 bar, it should be set to 1 bar cold. If what you think is a filling loop is connecting D+E then you're right.
You shouldn't have to touch any of those valves.

Yes, that's correct the filling loop connects the D & E, Thanks again
