the condensate pipe froze up on my ideal isar and error code was LF.so i defrosted pipe and reset boiler but error stll keeps coming up and boiler will not work.
thanks for any replies

spark generator or pcb, probably pcb afraid

also check presure tube from heat exchanger to gas valve is not full of condensate if condensate pipework has been blocked

Had one the same today, condensate froze, same thing happened to them last year, still left un lagged or did not increased in size, boiler next to sink,am going to run to internal sink waste

as puddle said probable pcb but keep persevering ideals are notoriously difficult to re set but the backed up condensate may have killed the overly fragile pcb

If the condensate was frozen it would have backed up into the heat exchanger which eats away at it. This then often blocks the condensate trap as they are fairly useless. So you may have cleared the pipe but the boiler may still be full of water due to the trap blocked.

As bronziono has just said, I had this problem on an isar last night.

Defrosted the condense pipe, reset the boiler and still the same problem, removed the s trap it was blocked full of gunk from the heat exchanger.

When the boilers attempting to light, listen for any gurgling coming from the flue terminal. If there is, a gsr engineer can whip out the s trap and sort fairly quickly. Obviously dont attempt yourself, the s trap is a critical part of the appliance.
