Ideal Isar Temperature Controls

Hi,

I've recently just moved, and inherited an Ideal Isar boiler, and have a problem which I'm not even really sure is a problem, or just me being stupid.

The boiler is an Ideal Isar (sorry, I don't know the model, but it looks like it may be a HE24/HE30/HE35 from the instructions I can find on the net), with a British Gas UT1 programmer attached (and a thermostat on the wall, which may be from a previous system as it doesn't seem to really do much). The two temperature dials on the Isar (DHW and CH) don't seem to want to budge to adjust the temperature, and it doesn't seem to make sense that they would both seize up at the same time. The boiler does seem to be working fine on it's current settings, but it's a bit chilly up here at the moment, and I could really use it being a bit higher 🙂

Is there something stupid I'm missing, or do I need to look at getting an engineer to take a look? (npower have recently done an initial inspection visit to take it under maintenance, which it passed fine).

Any advice would be appreciated.

wise move to get cover,they are cr!p boilers,have a good look around for a room stat

yes take them up on their offer and get them out to have a look, let them have the headache, some Ideal boilers are a nightmare and i hate them, I will tell you how bad a design some of them are ,you have to take the boiler off the wall to recharge the expansion vessel, total madness and they dont even provide a service to do this
