secret squirrel

......it generally is.

I have been looking a leasing a van recently, settled on the van I quite like a NV200 SE. I don't do horrendous mileage so don't mind doing it over 5 years, also paying a bit at the end suits me because then I'll keep it etc.

Looked around the net etc. Entered negotiations with one company £500 down £106 per month + VAT. Can't loose, sat there with a calculator and over 60 months + final payment + VAT was less than the vans worth buying cash!:innocent:

I couldn't get the figures to work, phoned asked the chap to explain it, he was sure it was correct. I asked him to check because the figures just don't work.

Well, he did and they didn't....

Real figures are:

£1500 down then £134 x 59 payments + VAT + final payment.

OR

£500 down then £155 x 59 payments + VAT + final payment.

Where would I stand if I'd signed up on the original figures and then was hit with this.

MY point is be careful or maybe I should have signed up, absolved myself of responsibility, gone to watchdog and claimed I was mugged etc.

Then get two muppets on a bike to set the company up.

if the first figures were given in writing they would have been legally binding had you signed up. you should have asked this question first before getting him to check.....
