Hi I am running 4 showers simultaneously as I have a small personal training center. But when more then 1 shower in being used the water pressure seems to drop. I am running an unvented 24kw 300 litre direct hot water tank. And my cold is coming straight from the mains. My cold water pressure seems to be good. I have used 15mm piping for the showers and suspect this could be the problem? Could anyone with better knowledge please help. If you need any more info let me no.

you say your mains pressure is ok but whats is the actual pressure? and the flow rate like? what size is the main? what size is the cold supply to the cylinder? do you have any room for a booster tank setup?

what type of flow rates are required by the showers? what showers are fitted?

I work on student digs. 240ltr cylinder, 22mm hot and cold with 15mm drops to the shower
- 100 of those setups, 800 showers, no complaints. Mind you, ive never been in each shower at the same time.....
What size is the cold inlet to cylinder?

Should smash 3 showers. 28mm and branch down to 15mm

Thank you to everyone that has replied the help is appreciated.

I have attached a few images of the set up. I don't no the flow rate but i will have a test as soon as i can. I have not had the mains pressure tested either. I know i sound like a knob. The cold supply from the mains is a 15mm pipe but then as soon as it hits the combination valve it turns into 22mm as you can see on the picture. I do have plenty of room for a booster tank setup also. But do you think i can get away with changing anything else before or should i just go for a booster tank. I have the 15 sec push valve showers. I am not too sure about the shower heads i feel they let too much water flow. I cant find out the max flow rate of the cylinder but it does say primary flow rate 15ltrs per min. Would the thicker pipes such as 20mm where possible increase pressure and flowrate?

I got someone in that claimed to be a plumber but basically ripped me off and my budget has gone out the window. It is a shame really these dodgy Cowboys give the good plumbers a bad name. I've spent a fortune that I don't have hence why I'm here asking for you hus help im not the donut yourself type of person really I like to pay and get the work done but I've been left with no other choice.

Is there more wrong with the setup? By the pictures?

can you upload pics of the work been done? and if you want it done right get a commercial plumber/heating eng in

I fully appreciate you've already paid out however do get someone in, we have dealt with b&bs, pubs and clubs where quite often things have been "tried" failed and at the end of the day the client has paid hand over fist before they got to us.

If you were ripped off for a sizeable chunk of money then go the legal route.

I have just tested the flowrate of 1 shower and I got 10l in 1 min. What flow rate should I get and where should I test?

You need to check the cold incoming main pressure and flow rate n pipe size to make sure its adequate to accommodate the showers and the tank,
TBH when the tank was fitted the benchmark section should've been filled n signed telling you all your hot n cold pressures n flow rates etc

😀 there no fronts on the immersion heaters so doubtful hes filled them in

Anyway, the discharge should not go into a bucket.
The hot draw off should extend in 22mm to the first 2 showers as should the cold.
There is a restrictive ISO on the cold to the cylinder where as it should be full bore

No clipping is poor
Electrics are shocking
Also cold + hots should be balanced.
Are there tmvs installed to those shower heads?

Has he registered the cylinder via building control?

U lot...... What chancers.

That install is good. Almost good enough to get in hall of shame.

Billy don't use the "p" word any more . If someone googles it they may get this thread and it would be a travesty. It's clearly not DIY as no ptfe on threads.

You have been mugged big time .

Did you say it was a gym? Offer 20 members free membership for a year to kick the plebs teeth in..... Or was it one of your members and that's the main problem?

Just looked at pics and defo not a plumber as purely compression so illegally fitted and probably not commissioned,

To Exodus it's imperative that you get a proper G3 qualified engineer in to make sure that proper pressure inside the expansion vessel and that all pressures and flow rates are properly documented, had this been done to start with you wouldn't have problems now,
I think the install is defo been done by a diyer ,
