Going on the intergas installer course next week just wanted to know if there are any questions or things i should be looking at in particular?

Yes why can't they make a boiler with a central flue
How would their boiler perform / last in a salty environment (near the sea side) with it's aluminium heat X ?
Ask them to start selling boilers in more merchents as there is not enough competition at the moment. Tell them to negotiate with williams &co, pts etc

Only place around here is a plumbcity so could be well over priced for all we know. More merchants required!

and tell them its a bloody cheek selling it seperately, 'do you want an expansion vessel with that boiler' 'what do you think of course I want an expansion vessel with a combi boiler' its like being asked when you buy a pint whether you want it with a glass, or buying a boiler and being asked do you want a flue with that or would you rather have the fumes vent into the room, oh they do that with most boilers

Involves changing the whole heat exchanger design and giving up the ability to condense in hot water mode 🙂

All negative comments, primarily, I've fitted a few of these units, quick and simple to install, one of which is in my own home 17 months old and not an issue, plenty of hot water always with its learning technology... Good I say.

You cam fit these as combos with an open vent hence exp vessel being optional I believe. Also you get a choice of rear kit or separate vessel and prv to install elsewhere on the system. I am sure this is correct I spoke to a rep about two years ago.
heat exchanger is piped internally in copper so no issue there I thought they were pretty good. Availability is still an issue I see.

Why are you going on this course? Are they paying you or haven't you anything better to do? Some* features are innovative but most of them are just pants. Baxi are offering installers £1000 to install neta tec and duo tec2 boilers? It's a special as they managed to get the design team from the isar and Dreamliner together!

Intergas Flue Position
Having the flue to the left gives them the option to take the flue 10 metres horizontally or vertically in standard 4" flue, they have an offset that gets the flue back to the centre without loss of length 🙂

The reason the expansion vessel is separate is purely that they offer a choice of 3 fixing options one wall fixing jig and 2 robo kits, take your choice

Although i would agree that they are not the most aesthetic appliance. The simplicity and the unique versatility is really useful. There is a great video on youtube from conception to production that is well worth viewing. No diverter to fail or domestic heat exchanger. A win win boiler for landlords as they don't always like parting with money on repairs. 5 year warranty if you are a P5 installer & 10 years on the heat exchanger. In my opinion it is the simplicity that wins over & with the new eco models giving around 95% efficiency in hot water mode it is a great appliance. Due to looks i only fit these in cupboards etc, not on view in kitchens unless it can be hidden by the kitchen units. People will often criticise other manufactures when at times have not done the research or fully understand how the appliances are made or even work. There are good appliance & piles of junk. There is a boiler for everyone.

the course is too short 1/23 a day . the prv looks a pig to change . from memory the heat exchanger is copper pipe encased in aluminium .good boiler but as leo said ugly and pipework under is on show
I'm in two minds with them still (why am I even replying to this ancient thread) good concept but ugly, not particularly easy to install compared to other boiler on the market and their service is shocking. I've been waiting 6 months (even with the rep pushing for me too) to attend the crappy course so I get 5 years warranty.
They're quite pricey too which makes them a harder sell when an unknown brand. They will definitely have their place, if I can offer the 5 year warranty...
I quite like like the fact they are an underdog though with something completely different to offer.

They sound just like a ferolli domicompact!
Make you wonder why they are so pricey as they have so few parts in them.
Perhaps it's to take account of the loss in sales revenue from those spares you won't be buying ???

its a box?? boxes aren't pretty, the last thing it needs is a flashing light and overall its not exactly big compared to the rest of the market, but it is so easy to install and set up I'd never look anywhere else for a boiler now. Fully converted and happy to reccommend against baxi ideal and wb pooh
So is a fridge but that doesn't stop people spending twice as much on the stainless steel one.
Its 50mm wider than a logic and won't fit in a cupboard, being ugly as well means it isn't going to sit nicely in a kitchen as a lot of boilers in this country are fitted. With the rear jig kit it is quite deep as well if I remember.
Don't go getting all Land Rovery on us about this boiler, its fair to say its got its flaws but also its advantages.
To to be fair they've not been sold in enough numbers for long enough to have a clear view on their reliability as a comparison either. I would imagine a vast majority have been installed by people who actually give a toss as well which will give them a better chance of survival, compared to the main stream brands that get chucked in by the hundreds for H.A contracts etc

There is no boiler on the market, and in my career there has never been one, that is ALWAYS the right choice for ALL situations.
There have been a few which should NEVER be used. This usually applies to models rather than makes, although I can't imagine many circumstances where I would say "What you need in these circumstances is a Biasi..."
It might sound like one, but it's nothing like the Italian tat. The heat exchangers a proper boat anchor, not like flimsy Ferroli stuff.
Yup properly made, HEX possibly the only one in current production that I can see lasting 20-30 years.

I've only found one round this way, which is 8 years old and working perfectly, although looks like a 20 year old combi but that's just the dated design.

He picked you to jump on it for a reason your little legs failed to give you enough height to cause any real damage.
